Metif CFO

Chris Tiesman founded Metis CFO Partners with a vision to deliver world-class financial leaders to businesses of all sizes. His passion is helping small and mid-market businesses level the playing field with larger competitors and partnering with them on the journey to the next level.

Chris lived in Iowa, Missouri, Michigan, and Nebraska prior to moving to Plano, Texas in 1982. Upon graduating Plano East Senior High in 1986, he attended Texas A&M University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics. Determined to pursue a career in finance, he enrolled in A&M’s Mays Business School. In 1992, Chris received his Master of Business Administration (MBA). He relocated from College Station to the Houston area in 1992.

During his career, Mr. Tiesman has held a wide range of finance and accounting positions of increasing responsibility. His industry experience includes financial services, public accounting, manufacturing, logistics, oil & gas, plastics, and chemicals. Former employers include GE Capital, Phillips Petroleum Company (now ConocoPhillips), Phillips Chemical Company (now ChevronPhillips), and IFCO Systems. Chris most recently served as SVP-Finance at IFCO Systems from 2002 through 2011. During his time on the senior management team, the company’s market value increased from approximately $100 million to $1.3 billion when the firm was sold to a major competitor in 2011.
